TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program that provides academic support to 150 eligible students enrolled at 鉴黄师app. 鉴黄师app鈥檚 TRIO Student Support Services can help you graduate from 鉴黄师app and help with your transition to a four-year college. SSS provides the following services to all members, free of charge: academic and personal advising, transfer and scholarship assistance, assistance completing your FAFSA, campus visits, cultural events, tutoring services, workshops, and mentoring. What does it mean to be a 鈥淔irst Generation College Student鈥?
A 鈥淔irst Generation College Student鈥 is a student whose parents have not completed a bachelor鈥檚 degree. TRIO still considers you a first-generation student even if your parents have technical certificates or degrees, or started their bachelor鈥檚 degree but did not complete it.
What does it mean to be 鈥淟imited Income鈥
Limited income is based off of the U.S. Department of Education Guidelines. For TRIO, a student is considered to have 鈥渓imited income鈥 if their household income is at or below 150% of the federal poverty level. Generally, if a student qualifies for a full Pell Grant, they usually meet the limited income status.
When can I apply for TRIO Student Support Services?
Applications are accepted all year. However, you will receive the most benefit from TRIO the earlier you are involved. The applications are located in the TRIO Offices or you can complete the online application.
Where are the TRIO offices located?
The TRIO offices are located in the Student Success Center in the southeast corner of Bailey Hall.
What are the costs involved with this program?
TRIO SSS is a 100% federally funded program under the Department of Education and Department of Labor. 鉴黄师app was awarded $272,363 to implement a TRIO Student Support Services program.
