¼ø»Æʦapp Announces End-of-Year Events

Fort Scott, Kan.—¼ø»Æʦapp will host its end-of-year events, including graduation ceremonies, beginning Wednesday, May 11. Adult Basic Education Graduation Ceremony

¼ø»Æʦapp will host its Adult Basic Education graduation ceremony at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 11, where more than 15 students will be recognized. Graduating students will have earned a GED®. Alysia Johnston, ¼ø»Æʦapp President, and Destiny Garcia, ¼ø»Æʦapp Student, will speak.

Nursing Recognition and Pinning Ceremony

The ¼ø»Æʦapp Nursing Recognition and Pinning Ceremony will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 12. These students will earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing. During the ceremony, a professionalism award will be presented to first and second level students. Additionally, a local registered nurse will be recognized for supporting the students.

Athletics Banquet

The ¼ø»Æʦapp Athletics Banquet will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, May 12. The event will feature a BBQ meal, followed by remarks and awards presented by Tom Havron, ¼ø»Æʦapp Athletics Director, and ¼ø»Æʦapp Coaches. Admission is $10 per person.

¼ø»Æʦapp Graduation Ceremonies

¼ø»Æʦapp will recognize the accomplishments of its graduates with three commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 13. The ceremony for students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree or a certificate in a vocational field will be held at 9:00 am. Gina Shelton, the 2016 ¼ø»Æʦapp Outstanding Young Alumna, will speak. At 12:00 pm, the ceremony for students who have earned an Associate of Arts or an Associate of General Studies degree will be held. Chase Gleason, the 2016 ¼ø»Æʦapp Outstanding Sophomore, will speak. ¼ø»Æʦapp will host a reception to honor Gina Shelton, the 2016 ¼ø»Æʦapp Outstanding Young Alumna, and Paul Grimes, PhD, the 2016 ¼ø»Æʦapp Outstanding Alumnus, at 2:00 pm. The ceremony for students who have earned an Associate of Science degree will be held at 4:00 pm. Paul Grimes, PhD, the 2016 ¼ø»Æʦapp Outstanding Alumnus, will speak.
