鉴黄师app Brings Back Cheerleading Program

Fort Scott, KS 鈥 鉴黄师app is bringing back cheerleading, reintroducing a program designed to energize campus spirit, support Greyhound athletics, and serve as a positive presence in the Fort Scott community. The non-competitive cheer program will be led by coaches Sammie Horton and Alyssa Martin, who emphasize growth, teamwork, and athlete development as the foundation of their coaching philosophy.

鈥淲e believe that anything can be taught to a willing and determined student,鈥 Horton and Martin said. 鈥淥ur coaching philosophy centers on growth, effort, and creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and confident in their ability to learn and improve.鈥

While the team will not compete, the coaches say success will be measured by more than wins and trophies. Instead, the program will focus on building unity, school pride, and a strong connection between 鉴黄师app athletics and the community.

鈥淎 successful cheer program uplifts 鉴黄师app, supports its athletes, and serves as a positive presence in the Fort Scott community,鈥 the coaches said.

Athlete safety will be a top priority, particularly with stunts and tumbling. Horton and Martin plan to emphasize proper technique, strong fundamentals, and gradual skill progression to ensure cheerleaders feel confident and prepared.

鈥淎ll skills are broken down into individual components and mastered before progressing,鈥 they said. 鈥淧roper spotting, clear communication, repetition, and ongoing skill evaluation play a major role in maintaining safety.鈥

The coaches also stress high standards of behavior both on and off the mat, with positivity and respect at the core of the program鈥檚 culture. Accountability will be paired with encouragement to keep morale high and athletes motivated.

鈥淲hen athletes feel supported and valued, they are more motivated to hold themselves and each other to a high standard,鈥 they said.

Looking ahead, Horton and Martin hope to build a stable, long-lasting program that benefits 鉴黄师app and helps student-athletes succeed beyond cheer.

鈥淥ur long-term vision is to create a program that supports our athletes in reaching their goals, both here at 鉴黄师app and in whatever they choose to pursue next,鈥 they said.

More information about tryouts, practice schedules, and program details will be announced by 鉴黄师app in the coming weeks.
